🚨 $XRP LEDGER’S HIDDEN BUG EXPOSED: A PATCH THAT PROTECTED ITS 100 BILLION SUPPLY? 🚨

Sometimes, the greatest threat to a blockchain is not a market crash, but a flaw buried inside its code.

On October 9, the XRP Ledger publicly disclosed a critical payment-engine vulnerability that could have allowed attackers to create spendable XRP without paying the full amount required.

The flaw involved an integer overflow when a payment processed multiple exchange offers. The calculation could wrap around, charging the buyer far less than the XRP credited to sellers.

Developers fixed the issue in xrpld version 3.4.1, released on September 25, 2026. RippleX reported no evidence that the vulnerability had been exploited on public networks.

The disclosure also revealed a second vulnerability involving Batch transactions, whose fix activated on the mainnet on October 9.

My Take: This is bigger than a routine software update. XRP's 100 billion maximum supply is a fundamental part of its economic design. A flaw capable of bypassing that rule could have undermined confidence in the ledger's accounting integrity.

The positive signal is the response: rapid patching, validator coordination, and stronger safeguards. But the incident also raises an important question about how long critical vulnerabilities can remain undiscovered.

XRP was trading around $1.40 with a positive 24-hour change when Binance's market data was checked. That alone does not prove the security disclosure will drive further price gains.

A blockchain's real strength is not the absence of bugs, but its ability to detect, contain, and correct them.
