Roughly 2.56 billion tokens circulating out of that 10 billion total. It’s been sliding for months now from the March high, more than 60% lower. No drama, just this quiet, persistent drift while everyone still talks about the agent thing.

The idea itself is simple enough. Agents need some kind of identity that can be checked, spending limits they can’t ignore, and a clean way to move small amounts of money without asking a human every time. Kite’s version is their own EVM chain plus that three-layer split — user, agent, session. Passport is what people actually interact with. Stablecoins for the actual payments. On paper it lines up.

But the usage still feels thin to me. Testnet was busy. Mainnet so far looks a lot quieter. The price seems more connected to the story and the big-name backers than to any steady flow of real agent payments you can point to.

Then the unlock lands. About 1.1 billion tokens coming free in early November — nearly half of what’s circulating now. Team and investor cliffs hit around the same time. The people actually using the agents don’t really need to hold the token. The ones holding it are the ones who feel the extra supply.

Staking and the rest of the utility is still mostly on the roadmap. Whether that ever creates real demand is the part I keep circling back to.

Honestly, the gap is still there. The problem they’re trying to solve is real. Whether the current valuation is more traction or just leftover belief in the narrative is what I’m still not sure about.
