**News Flash: LEGO Coin Scam Briefly Hits LEGO Homepage**

Toy giant LEGO Group swiftly removed a scam promoting a fake "LEGO Coin" token from its homepage after being hacked on October 5. The fraudulent message, which promised "secret rewards" for purchasing the token, was first spotted by LEGO enthusiast "ZTBricks" on X (formerly Twitter). Clicking the "Buy Now" button redirected users to a phishing site.

LEGO confirmed to Engadget that the scam was short-lived, no user accounts were compromised, and the issue has been resolved. Measures are being implemented to prevent future incidents. The scam appeared at 1:00am UTC and was taken down about 75 minutes later.
