How to read Funding in perpetual futures: it is a periodic payment between longs and shorts that keeps the perp price near spot. Positive Funding means longs pay shorts, so the crowd leans long; negative means shorts pay longs. Extreme readings often show a crowded trade, and crowded trades tend to unwind fast.
