🔹 Cloture needs 60 votes, Republicans hold 53, so at least 7 Dem votes are required and unresolved ethics/DeFi/stablecoin disputes are the sticking point.
🔹 A failed vote effectively kills the bill for 2026, and likely pushes it to 2029 given midterms.

August core CPI rose 0.3% MoM, above the 0.2% forecast, headline held at 3.4%. Normally that's risk-off. Instead BTC dropped to $76k then ripped 3%+ back to $79k, ETH jumped 8%. Translation: the market read this as an energy-driven supply story, not demand inflation, and shrugged it off.

Why it matters:
🔹 Fed hike odds for Sept 16 still jumped to 85-90%, the rate risk didn't vanish.
🔹 30Y yields briefly hit highest since 2004, real tightening pressure building.
🔹 Gold didn't catch a bid either, third straight weekly decline, below its 200-day MA.

⚠️ One session isn't a new regime, this can reverse fast once the Fed actually delivers.

My take: fragile rally, smart read on the "why," but risky into FOMC.
