Could rollups use Ethereum mainnet liquidity without a separate bridge transaction? The Ethereum Economic Zone says its Devcon demos explored that path.
The EEZ announced three cross-layer demonstrations:
• CoW Swap: a rollup trade uses mainnet liquidity and returns tokens in the same transaction, without a separate bridge step or extra signature.
• Safe: coordinate multisig ownership and treasury access across Ethereum mainnet and rollups.
• Falcon: verify a post-quantum signature on a rollup and use it to authorize a mainnet transfer. Crypto.news reports the team said this demo used about 91% less gas than mainnet verification.
Caveat: these are demonstrations, not a general production rollout. Practical support still depends on implementation, security review and participating networks.
