Binance's BTC reserve was 703.9K BTC on 21 October 2026, at the 97th percentile of its one-year range, while its estimated leverage ratio was 0.1936, close to a six-month low. BTC closed at 84.0K,10.3 9.63B.
A high reserve alongside a low leverage ratio can be read two ways. If the reserve reflects more coins available to trade, spot liquidity may be improving. If it reflects transfers between wallets and exchanges, the balance would rise without adding tradable supply. The leverage ratio also draws on exchange balances, so part of its decline may come from the larger reserve rather than from fewer leveraged positions.
By 27 October, the reserve had eased to 700.8K BTC (89th percentile) and the leverage ratio was 0.1930 (52nd percentile of the year). The reserve has stayed high while leverage has stayed low, which suggests the pattern held for at least a week.
One candidate explanation, unverified: part of the reserve increase may reflect transfers between wallets or platforms rather than new coins reaching the market.
This combination may create conditions that have historically preceded directional volatility, but the flow data does not yet confirm a direction. For now, the clearest reading is that Binance holds more BTC relative to its one-year range while leverage has not risen with it. Whether that supply is tradable should become clearer if netflows stay persistent after the GDP release on 29 October.
