Zcash is worth $21.8B, more than twice Monero's $10.0B. Only about 29% of ZEC actually sits in Zcash's private pools.

We pulled the pool balances from a Zcash node at block 3,514,806. Of 16.98M ZEC in circulation, about 4.97M are in shielded pools. The other 11.95M, roughly 70%, sit in transparent addresses that anyone can trace the same way as Bitcoin.

By our math, the shielded part is worth about $6.38B at $1,284 per ZEC. That's around 64% of Monero's market cap, and on Monero privacy is on for every transaction.

A year ago Monero was the bigger coin, $5.6B against Zcash's $4.3B. Since then ZEC is up about 379% and XMR about 81%, per CoinGecko. ZEC's 24-hour volume is near $819M, almost 9 times Monero's $94M.

Most of the shielded ZEC, about 83%, already sits in Ironwood, the new pool Zcash switched on in July after the Orchard bug.

The privacy trade is priced on $21.8B. The private part is $6.38B.
