APTOS UNVEILS MONOMOVE, WITH SMART CONTRACT TASKS UP TO 55X FASTER
Aptos has introduced MonoMove, a new execution engine designed to speed up smart contract processing. In tests replaying real Decibel transactions, some tasks ran up to 55 times faster. A broader workflow covering order-book trading, lending, price updates and settlement processed up to 11 times more transactions end to end.
In my view, the key point is not just the peak speedup in an individual task, but the potential to improve an entire DeFi workflow. If those gains hold under real-world conditions, applications could respond faster and handle continuous order flow more efficiently. Still, benchmark results do not guarantee the same performance on mainnet. Data storage, testing and further optimization remain important variabtles.
MonoMove is still being integrated and tested. Aptos expects to complete its feature set by the end of 2026, then target mainnet in 2027, subject to community governance approval. The upside scenario is better DeFi performance on Aptos; until mainnet data is available, the results should be treated as technical potential rather than a confirmed outcome.
Do you think execution speed or security will matter more when financial applications choose a blockchain? If this logic makes sense, drop a follow for more market breakdowns.
