AI stocks are still rising — but is the next move another breakout or a pause?

The AI story is getting bigger. The Nasdaq closed at a record high on Sept. 22, helped by AI and semiconductor stocks. AMD also crossed the $1 trillion market cap milestone as investors continued to price in strong AI demand.

But today’s action is more interesting. Nvidia, AMD, Intel and Micron were trading around 1% lower in premarket after their recent rally. That could simply be profit taking, but it also shows why price action matters more than headlines.

My take: I’m still constructive on the long-term AI theme, but I don’t want to chase every green candle. I’m watching earnings, revenue growth, trading volume and whether buyers can defend recent breakout levels.

AI infrastructure, chips, memory, cloud and data centers could remain key areas as spending continues.

Do you think AI stocks have more room to run, or is a cooling off phase coming first?
