$BTC Market Update — September 17, 2026
Bitcoin is currently trading around $76.4K after recovering from yesterday’s move below $75K.
The short-term structure is still cautious/bearish. BTC has bounced, but it has not yet reclaimed the key resistance area around $77.3K–$79.1K. Several technical analyses today are still treating the current move as a recovery within a broader short-term correction.
The recent weakness also came after the U.S. Federal Reserve raised rates by 25 bps to 3.75%–4.00%, while the failed Senate vote on the CLARITY Act added pressure to the crypto market. Bitcoin briefly dropped below $75K before recovering.
🔑 Key Levels
🟢 Support: $75,000–$76,100
🔴 Resistance: $77,270–$77,300
🔴 Major resistance: $79,000–$79,100
If BTC fails to reclaim $77.3K and falls back below $75K, the next downside area being watched is around $72.4K–$72.8K.
On the other hand, if BTC can break and hold above $77.3K, the bearish setup could weaken. A sustained move above $79.1K would provide stronger evidence that the correction is losing control.
For now: bearish bias, but confirmation is important.
The key battle is around $75K support vs. $77.3K resistance.
