HYPE SURGES AS HYPERLIQUID EYES A BIGGER U.S. DERIVATIVES MARKET

Hyperliquid Labs is reportedly in advanced discussions with Payward, the parent company of Kraken, over a potential pathway to offer crypto futures to U.S. traders through CFTC-regulated Bitnomial.

The development has attracted significant market attention, with HYPE reportedly gaining around 50% toward the $84 level as traders assess the potential expansion of Hyperliquid’s reach into the U.S. derivatives market.

🇺🇸 WHY THIS COULD MATTER

Access to regulated derivatives infrastructure could represent an important step for Hyperliquid. If the discussions ultimately lead to a live offering, the combination of Hyperliquid’s trading technology and a regulated U.S. framework could broaden its potential user base while connecting decentralized trading infrastructure with traditional market structures.

💰 BUYBACK ACTIVITY ADDS ANOTHER SIGNAL

Hyperliquid’s momentum also comes alongside a broader trend in crypto project buybacks. Hyperliquid and Pump.fun reportedly accounted for around 90% of the record $638 million in crypto project buybacks during 2026.

For HYPE, this creates a stronger fundamental narrative around protocol activity, token economics and market demand.

However, discussions are not the same as a completed agreement, and market expectations can move faster than actual adoption. Traders should watch for official announcements, regulatory developments, trading volumes and sustained protocol activity.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

If Hyperliquid successfully connects its ecosystem with regulated U.S. derivatives infrastructure, it could become a meaningful bridge between DeFi trading and institutional markets.
