Not everyone sees the package as a problem. Morgan Stanley's Adam Jonas said that while the number is staggering, it could still be justified given Tesla's massive market potential.
Deepwater's Gene Munster even suggested the award is achievable if Tesla pursues a merger with Musk's XAl, which he said could lead to an $8.5 trillion valuation.
Amid the debate, Tesla quietly updated its definition of Full Self-Driving technology, clarifying that it still requires human supervision. Musk's pay milestones include the company reaching more than 10 million active FSD subscriptions, underscoring how deeply Tesla's future is tied to autonomous driving progress.
