Bitcoin cycle bottom- On 1 July, Bitcoin printed the print Vaibhavv Ali keeps putting on the table. Bloomberg’s Mike McGlone was talking $10K. Others said $20K. Bobby Lee, on stage at Rare Evo in August, said $25K. On Aura 8 Episode 87, Ali brought back the guest who had already called it the other way: Michael Terpin.
Terpin’s correction was characteristically tight. It was not a crystal ball. It was the first time the odds favored a bottom — and still, in his telling, better than a coin-flip that October could undercut it if macro broke the wrong way. Macro broke the other way.
Terpin still assigns about 80% that the early-July low was the cycle floor. The tape since then is a policy shock he calls a white swan: a Treasury bid for long bonds, an SEC–CFTC Reg Crypto framework, a Trump crypto summit, and a push for the Clarity Act. That cluster, he said, produced a roughly 24% burst and flipped the regime from bear to bull. He still wants a retrace. He does not want the mid-50s again. Base-case dip is a Fibonacci slide into the upper $60s. Anything under $70K is a buy. Anything under $65K — and especially under the 200-week moving average, which he put near $64,500 — is the historical scoop.
He does not have Bitcoin closing 2026 above $100K. His working top for this cycle is $200K–$240K. Above that is supercycle territory.
The white swan that flipped bear to bull
Terpin’s sequence:
Treasury Secretary Bessent signaling on the order of $1 trillion of support aimed at long-dated yieldsSEC and CFTC aligning on a Reg Crypto framework — in his phrase, something that could revive an ICO-like issuance marketTrump’s crypto summit the same day, including constructive comments on names such as Hyperliquid and a push to pass the Clarity Act
That is not “good CPI.” That is three policy doors opening at once. Altcoin bid followed. Bitcoin did not give the rally back. Each session that holds, he said, shrinks the leftover chance of a full revisit of the $60s.
Levels: $70K is a buy, $65K is a scream
The moving average is the rule he will not abandon. When Bitcoin went under $60K in February, it was not under the 200-week. When it went under about $62K in June, it was. The line moves. His current buy-the-average level: about $64,500.

A Fed hike can knock risk assets. He does not think it re-opens a bear market in Bitcoin.
This week’s real risk is the Fed, not $40K
Ali pressed the 30-year and the Bessent-versus-bond-market fight (citing Druckenmiller on Treasury losses). Terpin’s near-term tell is simpler: the market is pricing roughly a two-thirds chance of a hike. Trump wanted a more dovish Fed chair before Powell’s term was up because he ranks growth over the last eight-to-ten months of inflation above the 2% target. A hike would be a dampener. It is not, in this framework, a regime change.
Rapid-fire confirmation: yes, he expects the Fed to hike again in 2026. Probably yes, Treasury loses some version of the contest with the bond market. Kevin Warsh is not a nothing-burger by Christmas.
Tokenize at Tiger Mansion
Mid-show plug, then substance. Terpin founded BitAngels in 2013 (now 40-plus cities) and the first crypto investor conference in 2014 as Coin Agenda, later rebranded Tokenize to cover securities, real estate, and the rest of the digital-asset stack. The next edition is at the former Mike Tyson property — Tiger Mansion. Confirmed keynote on air: Dr. Patrick Byrne. Site: tokenizeconference.com.
He also pointed listeners to the book and bitcoinsupercycle.ai.
Supercycle vs diminishing returns
The historical pattern he walked: 100x, then 30x, then 8x instead of 10x, then 2x instead of 3x — a path that would make the next leg 30%, then 10%, then nothing. He does not think that is Bitcoin’s future, because global “normie” adoption has not happened yet. U.S. ownership he ballparked as north of 5%, maybe closer to 20% — estimates, not a registry. Spot ETFs, on his round number, are about $100 billion. If that book is $200–400 billion by 2029, the bid hits a float that whales can no longer fill the old way.
This cycle may have been the first time large holders could sell thousands of coins into TradFi demand without only selling to other OGs. Next cycle the question is whether that supply hits early enough to break the tape — or whether ETF and new-buyer demand creates a supply shock and a supercycle that runs longer or higher than the old four-year script.
Scenarios he sketched:
Frenzy into roughly $250K–$270K, then a short parabolic burst through $300K, then a popOr a top that simply does not look like prior blow-off tops (this cycle already “popped out of apathy”)
Best estimate of the top: low $200s, $200K–$240K. Clearance above that is supercycle.
AI versus Bitcoin timing: both look like 2029 events to him. Working guess — Bitcoin bubble spring 2029, AI bubble fall 2029. Bitcoin pops first.

Key takeaways
July remains the 80% cycle low. October downside needed bad macro. He got a white swan instead.Regime is bull, with a garden-variety dip toward the upper $60s / $70K more likely than a collapse.200-week MA ~$64.5K is still the mechanical buy line.2026 close above $100K: no. Cycle top zone: $200K–$240K.Policy stack to watch: Fed hike odds, Clarity Act slip, Reg Crypto becoming real rules.Tokenize / Tiger Mansion is the October investor room; bitcoinsupercycle.ai is the longer thesis.
