According to Odaily, Hack VC, a Web3 venture capital firm that previously led a $50 million Series A funding round for Eclipse, has expressed deep concern over sexual harassment allegations against Eclipse founder Neel Somani. Hack VC has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of sexual harassment or misconduct and holds the same high standards for founders and companies it invests in. Upon learning of the allegations, Hack VC collaborated with other investors and the team to urge Neel Somani to resign, expressing strong faith in the mission of the Eclipse team and project.
They fully support Vijay Chetty as the new CEO, believing he is the ideal candidate to drive the project forward. It was reported that in March of this year, Eclipse Labs announced the completion of a $50 million Series A funding round, co-led by Placeholder and Hack VC, with participation from RockTree Capital, Polychain Capital, Delphi Digital, Maven 11, DBA, funds managed by Apollo, Fenbushi Capital, and ParaFi Capital.
Previously, it was reported that Eclipse founder and CEO Neel Somani was about to resign, and Vijay Chetty would be appointed as the CEO of Eclipse Labs. Chetty will be promoted from Chief Growth Officer and will assume all the responsibilities of the CEO. On May 10, Neel Somani announced that he would 'temporarily step back' from his duties at the Ethereum Layer 2 solution due to sexual harassment allegations. Despite multiple allegations involving his sexual misconduct, Somani insisted on his innocence in a post. After this decision was made, Somani stated that it was a fair treatment for the Eclipse team, investors, and the developer ecosystem.
