How is Bitcoin dominance VS ETHEREUM and Altcoins today?
As of September 29, 2026, Bitcoin dominance is around 57–59%, depending on the data provider. CoinGecko currently shows about 57.1%, while CoinMarketCap is around 58.6%. 📊 What that means for the market BTC dominance = Bitcoin’s share of the total crypto market capitalization. Dominance rising: capital is relatively more concentrated in BTC → altcoins can struggle against BTC.Dominance falling: capital is relatively shifting toward ETH and other altcoins → usually a more favorable environment for altcoins.BTC rising + dominance falling: often indicates a broad market rally with stronger altcoin participation. BTC falling + dominance rising: can indicate investors are moving toward BTC relative to riskier altcoins. Right now, the interesting part is that dominance has been below 60% and trending somewhat lower, while recent data shows increasing altcoin participation. CoinMarketCap’s Altcoin Season Index is around 63/100, and Glassnode reported that spot trading volume in altcoins has risen to nearly four times Bitcoin’s volume. 🔎 For ETH and altcoins For the type of ETH/altcoin setups we’ve been watching, I’d watch BTC dominance + BTC price together, rather than dominance alone: BTC stable/up + BTC.D falling → 🟢 stronger setup for altcoins BTC stable + BTC.D rising → 🟡 BTC taking relative strength BTC falling + BTC.D rising → 🔴 potentially difficult environment for altcoins So, the current ~57–59% dominance level is worth watching closely, especially if it continues declining while BTC remains stable. That combination would indicate increasing relative participation outside Bitcoin.
I am focussing all my eyes on this $BTW , if I get a beautfull opportunity I’ll big Short it , coze this particular token use to play something like Rug pull 🤪 if they dare this time , I’ll retire my Family 🤣
“Ethereum successfully introduced a very complex technology (PeerDAS) that lets the network verify data availability without every node having to download the entire block—and it has been working reliably for almost a year.”
In simpler terms: Ethereum became more scalable and decentralized without sacrificing reliability.
That rise in BTC #dominance means Bitcoin is currently taking a larger share of total crypto market capitalization. For altcoins, a continued rise in $BTC.D can make broad #altcoin rallies harder, while a sustained decline can indicate capital rotating toward altcoins.
LATEST: 📈 Tom Lee told Coinage that Ethereum can "absolutely" hit new all-time highs this year, calling for $3,000 in the near term and "well above $5,000" to follow.
* Below $2,639: the next important area is roughly $2,574–$2,552.
* MACD is negative and the Stoch RSI is very low, so short-term momentum is weak but potentially approaching an oversold condition.
This lines up with current market commentary: ETH recently broke above ~$2,660 and $2,700 but then pulled back, with ~$2,660 now an important area to monitor.
As of September 24, 2026, BTC dominance is about 58.7%, up sharply from roughly 57.3% yesterday and 56.8% a week ago.
What I’d watch now
For the altcoin market, I’d pay particular attention to whether BTC.D can break back below ~57% and then continue lower. Conversely, if it pushes toward the 59% area, that would indicate continued BTC relative strength. The current reading is also close to the recent 52-week high around 59.0%.
