Ledger says it was not hacked, Ethereum app bug was patched before exploit
Ledger said it was not hacked after OneKey researchers reproduced a transaction-replacement vulnerability in an outdated Ethereum app. Ledger said it fixed the flaw in version 1.22.2, released August 13, before OneKey's post. Ledger said it found no evidence of exploitation outside a laboratory.
OneKey and Anzen claim they hacked Ledger's Ethereum app version 1.22.1. Ledger says no users were hacked and the issue had already been fixed. OneKey says Ledger fixed the issue in version 1.22.3, while Ledger's Donjon team says the fix shipped in version 1.22.2.

Bitcoin rose 1.9% to $80,526 as the Jackson Hole symposium began with digital payments and fintech infrastructure on its program. Bitcoin remained about 2.5% below the $82,538 level that capped a previous breakout attempt. New Fed Chair Kevin Warsh is scheduled to deliver his first keynote as chair on August 28.
Ethena Foundation proposes ENA buyback fee switch and token changes
Ethena Foundation proposed four ecosystem changes, including a fee switch that would direct 95% of net protocol revenue to ENA buybacks after the first USDe supply milestone. The changes would also end monthly investor unlocks and transfer protocol value to the foundation and its ecosystem. The foundation said it bought locked tokens from certain early investors who had sold ENA.
ENA surged 23% to $0.17 after the Ethena Foundation announced an overhaul of the token’s economics. ENA holders are voting on a fee switch that could direct 95% of net protocol revenue to token buybacks. The token has doubled in price in a bit more than a week.
Bitcoin rebounded toward $81,000 after Nvidia's Q2 earnings beat expectations at $96.2 billion. Nvidia's earnings exceeded expectations by around $4 billion. Nvidia shares rose more than 9% as the Nasdaq Composite gained 1%.

The transactions were worth over $73 million between May 2025 and April 2026. The median x402 payment was between $0.01 and $0.10, and USDC accounted for 98.6% of settlements.
Nvidia has reportedly agreed to acquire Hugging Face for $12.9 billion. The proposed deal could reshape open-source AI by combining Nvidia's computing hardware with Hugging Face's model distribution infrastructure. Hugging Face has not confirmed the terms.
Justin Sun is suing Chinese actress Jing Tian in China after claiming she accepted 30 million yuan ($4.5 million) for her eggs but did not provide them. Jing Tian's studio denied the claims. Sun said she demanded an additional 20 million yuan ($3 million) before proceeding.

Bitcoin's Aug. 19 rally included the largest single-day short-liquidation event in Glassnode's feed since 2019. Glassnode later recorded $2.23 billion of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF creations over seven days without an outflow day. VanEck also reported a 356,534 BTC decline in supply held for more than one year over 30 days.

An anonymous hacker leaked unreleased Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay to promote the Solana memecoin $CYBERLEEK before an apparent cash-out of about $270,000. The token reached a market capitalization of roughly $25 million on Aug. 23. Take-Two subpoenaed X, Microsoft and Discord to identify the leaker.
CZ says Bitcoin could overtake gold in next bull run
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao said Bitcoin could overtake gold as soon as the next bull run. Zhao said large countries may take years to replace their gold-holding systems, although the market value gap has narrowed to roughly tenfold. He advised governments to build crypto reserves with about 50% Bitcoin, 10% to 20% Ethereum, and a portion in BNB after excluding stablecoins.
Changpeng Zhao said Bitcoin will reach $1 million per coin and eventually surpass gold's market value. Zhao made the comments at Bitcoin Asia in Hong Kong. He also said Bitcoin is dangerous for countries that do not adopt it.
Ethena buys out early investors as ENA nears 100% monthly rally
The Ethena Foundation bought out seed investors who sold after the October 2025 peak as ENA gained 11% and neared a 100% monthly rally. The deal ended the monthly unlock schedule for those investors. A Snapshot vote would direct protocol revenue to ENA purchases after USDe circulating supply reaches $7.5 billion. StablecoinX still holds about 20% of ENA supply under a separate lockup.
Schwab plans to add SOL, AVAX and LINK to crypto trading
Charles Schwab plans to add Solana, Avalanche and Chainlink to its crypto trading platform in the coming months. The platform currently offers direct Bitcoin and Ether trading to retail clients. Schwab charges 0.75% per crypto trade and offers the service in all US states except New York and Louisiana.
Polish Olympic chief arrested in suspected crypto-linked bribe probe
Polish Olympic Committee President Radosław Piesiewicz was arrested as prosecutors investigate whether he received a financial benefit from Zondacrypto's chief. Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek confirmed the arrest, and prosecutors have not disclosed charges. A joint investigation alleged that Piesiewicz received a watch worth about 40,000 euros and other gifts.
UK tax agency reports 240 crypto millionaires in 2025
HM Revenue and Customs reported that 240 people each declared more than £1 million ($1.4 million) in crypto-related capital gains during the 2024 to 2025 tax year. About 17,600 people reported combined crypto gains of $1.9 billion. The agency recorded $18.7 billion in asset disposals from selling or trading. The UK also plans to require crypto asset service providers to report gains and losses under an OECD framework.
MoonPay adds Solana lending so AI agents can manage crypto loans
MoonPay added Solana lending protocol Kamino to its PayBox payment vault, allowing eligible users to lend tokens or borrow against crypto collateral through ChatGPT or Claude. Kamino has around $1.3 billion in total value locked and $1 billion in active loans, according to DefiLlama. The integration uses natural-language instructions instead of creating a new loan product.
Jackson Hole Fed retreat adds crypto and stablecoins to its agenda
About 120 central bankers, economists, and officials will attend the Kansas City Fed's annual symposium at Jackson Lake Lodge on Aug. 27. The Fed's agenda includes crypto and stablecoins alongside instant payments and other digital payment systems. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's keynote could move Bitcoin through signals on inflation, employment, and future rates.
