I think I finally understand what Dusk is trying to solve with Citadel 2. It is not simply private KYC. The more interesting idea is being able to prove that you have the required credential without putting your personal details or the exact credential onchain. Here is how I understand the flow: A trusted provider checks you offchain. You receive a signed credential. Later when a application needs to verify your eligibility you generate a zero-knowledge proof showing that you hold a valid credential. The application can verify the proof without needing to saw the underlying personal information. That is a very different model from repeatedly handing over the same documents. & this matters for regulated markets. Imagine I want access to several financial applications. If every application needs my complete identity information again compliance becomes a new data-sharing problem every time. Citadel 2 points toward another approach: verify the required attribute prove the credential is valid grant access keep unnecessary identity data private. That is a very different model from repeatedly handing over the same documents.

Imagine I want access to several financial applications.

If every application needs my complete identity information again compliance becomes a new data-sharing problem every time.

Citadel 2 points toward another approach:

verify the required attribute
prove the credential is valid
grant access
keep unnecessary identity data private.

That is what makes selective disclosure interesting to me.

Privacy is not being used to avoid compliance.

It is being used to make compliance more precise.

The question I find most interesting now is:

Can this model make regulatory access reusable across multiple financial applications without turning every application into another place where sensitive identity data has to live??

A transaction being submitted is NOT the same thing as a transaction being settled. That distinction sounds technical until you put a financial asset behind the transaction. Imagine an investor buys a tokenized security. The wallet says the transaction was submitted. Does that mean ownership has changed? Not necessarily. The transaction still needs to be accepted / included / executed & ultimately finalized. & Dusk makes that distinction explicit. Even a successful submission response did not mean the transaction is already in a block. That is important because financial applications shouldnot confuse: the network received my transaction with: the network has finalized the financial state. For ordinary crypto transfers people may not think much about that difference. For regulated securities it becomes much more important. A transfer can represent a change in ownership. A payment can represent the settlement leg. A compliance-controlled action can determine whether the transfer was even permitted. So the application needs to know exactly when the underlying state is final. Thats why I find Dusk's deterministic-finality design interesting. The important metric isn't simply: How fast did the transaction appear? It is: How quickly can the application reach a state where it can confidently treat the transaction as final? That is a much more meaningful definition of settlement speed to me. & honestly this is the kind of infrastructure detail I want to see more of from RWA projects. Not just: assets are going onchain. I have been looking at Dusk's RWA stack from the settlement side & I think I was focusing too much on the asset itself. A tokenized bond is only 1 side of a transaction. The other side is the money. & this is where EURQ becomes interesting. Imagine an investor buying a tokenized security. You need two things to move together: the security the payment. If the asset settles onchain but the payment still has to move through a completely separate system you are still coordinating two financial rails. That is why I find the Dusk + EURQ direction more interesting than another stablecoin on a blockchain announcement. EURQ is an Electronic Money Token designed for euro-denominated payments & is issued by Quantoz Payments under the EU regulatory framework. The bigger idea is that a regulated digital euro can provide the payment leg alongside tokenized financial assets. So the workflow starts looking like: eligible investor → regulated asset → EURQ payment → onchain settlement. And this is where I think the real RWA infrastructure story begins. Because the goal isn0t simply to make securities digital. Its to make the transaction around those securities more programmable. Buy the asset. Transfer the payment. Settle both sides. That gives us something useful to observe. Not just how many wallets arrived, but what people actually did with the infrastructure. Capital was supplied. Positions were opened. Markets were created. Curator activity happened. & the project also came into the TGE with institutional backing rather than starting from zero. Still I wouldnot treat any of that as a guarantee. A strong pre-TGE footprint can show that there is demand. It doesnot automatically show that the same demand survives a change in incentives market conditions or token economics. So my real checklist for $TMX is pretty simple: Does capital stay? Do users return? Do markets remain useful? I think there is a bigger reason fixed-rate markets matter for serious capital than just avoiding rate volatility. It comes down to being able to make a financing decision before the trade starts. In a typical variable-rate lending market the borrowing cost depends on what the pool looks like at that moment. More demand can push the rate higher & the cost of an existing position can change as the market changes. That works well for flexible DeFi capital. But it becomes harder to plan around when you are managing money that needs defined assumptions. This is where @termmax gets interesting to me. Its markets let lenders & borrowers express the rate & maturity they actually want rather than relying entirely on a utilization formula to determine the price. That creates something closer to a negotiated financing market. & the difference is bigger than it sounds. Imagine I complete KYC to access one regulated financial application. Then I move to another application built around the same regulated ecosystem. If I have to start the entire verification process again a lot of the friction that tokenization was supposed to remove is still there. That is why the Dusk + NPEX model caught my attention. The idea of a shared compliant environment can allow a single KYC onboarding to support access across licensed applications while the assets themselves remain subject to the appropriate eligibility and transfer rules. And suddenly composability means something different. Itz not just: DeFi protocol → DeFi protocol. It becomes: verified investor → compliant asset → licensed application → another licensed application without rebuilding the entire compliance layer every time. That feels much closer to what institutional DeFi would actually need. But there is a question I still want answered. How portable can that compliance context become when different assets applications & jurisdictions have different requirements? I have been digging into TermMax more & the part that keeps making more sense to me is how they break one lending position into separate pieces. When you borrow you get a GT representing the leveraged position while the debt side is separated into FT for the fixed-rate principal/interest exposure and XT for the remaining yield side. That sounds technical at 1st but the practical difference is pretty simple: you are not stuck with one all-in-one position. Want exposure to the fixed-rate side? FT gives you that. Want to manage the leveraged position separately? That is where GT comes in. The vault side is actually the bit I find more useful personally. I did not really want to sit there comparing every maturity & rate myself. TermMax’s ERC-4626 vaults can let curators like MEV Capital and Keyrock handle allocation across different term markets so the user doesnot have to micromanage every position. And I like the fixed-rate model for one reason: the rate is known upfront. No wondering what the borrowing cost will look like after the market moves. The more I look at TermMax the less it feels like a typical yield product & the more it looks like an attempt to turn fixed-income positions into modular tradable building blocks onchain.
