I was looking at Babylon’s token distribution and release schedule the other day, and man, it’s one of the clearer tokenomics setups I’ve seen in a while.
They start with a 10 billion BABY genesis supply. The pie chart breaks it down (without inflation) across Community, Ecosystem, R&D and operations, Team, Advisors, Investors, Market maker, and a Binance Hodler allocation. You can see the biggest slices go to Investors and the ecosystem/community side, which makes sense if you’re trying to bootstrap both early capital and long-term participation.
What I found more interesting is the release schedule chart. It shows how the tokens actually unlock over time from April 2025 out to 2029. Community has a solid base that stays relatively steady, while Ecosystem, Team, Advisors, Investors, and the rest gradually unlock. On top of that you see the inflation layer building up, which pushes the total circulating supply past the original 10B (that’s why the chart goes over 100%).
The design feels intentional they didn’t dump everything at once. Early unlocks are controlled, and the bigger portions for team and investors have longer vesting, which reduces the chance of sudden sell pressure. At the same time, the community and ecosystem allocations are structured so there’s room to keep rewarding users and builders as the network grows.
Honestly, seeing both the allocation pie and the multi year unlock curve together gives a pretty honest picture of how the token will enter the market. Not the most exciting part of the project, but it’s the kind of transparency that makes me take the economics more seriously.

I keep seeing people ask the same question: when do altcoins finally move?
I'm not sure the answer is as simple as picking a date. Markets rarely shift all at once. Sometimes Bitcoin holds attention longer than expected, and everything else simply waits. Then, almost quietly, capital begins to spread across larger altcoins before reaching the rest of the market. That sequence has happened before, but every cycle writes its own story. Right now, the more interesting observation isn't whether ALTs are coming soon, but whether the conditions for broader participation are slowly falling into place.
