Russiaโ€™s Moscow Exchange (MOEX) is set to expand its cryptocurrency derivatives offering with the launch of perpetual futures linked to Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP and TRON (TRX) on September 22, 2026. ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ“ˆ

The new contracts will be available only to qualified investors, according to MOEX. The contracts will track MOEX cryptocurrency indices and will not involve the physical delivery of the underlying digital assets.

The contracts will be quoted in U.S. dollars but cash settled in Russian rubles, giving eligible investors exposure to crypto price movements through the exchangeโ€™s derivatives infrastructure.

MOEX says its digital asset futures market has already attracted more than 72,000 qualified investors, with cumulative trading volume exceeding 600 billion rubles.

๐Ÿ”Ž Why It Matters

The launch adds five major cryptocurrencies to MOEXโ€™s perpetual futures lineup and provides qualified investors with another regulated venue for gaining exposure to crypto price movements.

However, the products are derivatives rather than direct cryptocurrency ownership, and access remains restricted to qualified investors.
