๐Ÿงฉ $WBT Has One Price - But Four Very Different Supply Stories ๐Ÿ“ŠPrice is usually the first number I check. With $WBT , the supply side turned out to be much more interesting. CoinGecko currently shows around 117.9M circulating supply, 293.6M total supply and 400M max supply. WhiteBIT also says the token supply has been fully unlocked since 2026. Put those numbers together, and you get a good example of why โ€œsupplyโ€ can mean several different things. ๐ŸŸก Circulating supply tells you how many tokens are considered publicly tradable right now. Multiply that by price, and you get a market cap. ๐Ÿ”ต FDV looks much further out. It asks what the valuation would look like if the broader token supply used in that calculation were valued at todayโ€™s price. ๐ŸŸข Unlocked supply answers another question: how many tokens are no longer restricted by a vesting schedule? An unlocked token does not automatically have to enter active circulation or hit the market. That last point is easy to miss. With WBT, the unlock schedule can be finished while the circulating figure used by a data provider remains much smaller than total supply. It is one reason I check tokenomics almost as quickly as the price. $BTC makes supply easy to think about because everyone watches its issuance closely. With other assets, the gap between circulating, unlocked, total, and max supply deserves the same attention. So when I see a market cap number now, I usually ask one more question before doing anything with it: which supply is actually behind that number? ๐Ÿค”Do you look at market cap or FDV first when researching a token - and how much weight do you give unlocked supply?
