🇮🇳 Indian social activist and education reform advocate Sonam Wangchuk has voluntarily ended his 26-day hunger strike in New Delhi, which he began in late June in support of the youth-led “Cockroach” protest movement.

According to reports, Wangchuk lost around 11 kilograms during the fast.

His hunger strike became a powerful symbol for the movement, helping amplify nationwide demonstrations that have grown into one of the largest and longest-running protest campaigns against the Indian government in recent years.

Wangchuk announced the end of his fast following discussions with government representatives and appeals to avoid further escalation, while protesters have vowed to continue pressing their demands through peaceful means.
