Macy’s beats Q2 expectations and raises full-year guidance
📊 Macy’s reported Q2 net sales of $4.9 billion, above expectations of around $4.83 billion. Comparable sales rose 2.7%, well ahead of its previous guidance of 0% to +1%, while all three major nameplates posted growth.
🏬 Bloomingdale’s stood out with comparable sales up 11.3%, while Bluemercury rose 6.2%. Macy’s also said its Reimagine 200 stores continued to deliver positive growth, supporting the broader operational improvement.
💵 Adjusted EPS came in at $0.63, although about $0.23 per share came from an IEEPA tariff refund. Excluding that benefit, core EPS was roughly $0.40, still above market expectations of about $0.37.
📈 The company also raised its FY2026 guidance for the second time, now expecting sales of $21.675–21.825 billion and adjusted EPS of $2.15–2.35. Most of the tariff refund will be reinvested rather than flowing directly into profit.
