🚨 Chainlink just moved deeper into the plumbing of global banking.
Bottomline has launched Global Pay Connect, a new payment connectivity platform for 600+ banks, with Chainlink providing the interoperability layer that connects existing banking rails to public and private blockchains. Bottomline already moves more than $16 trillion in payments annually, making this one of Chainlink’s most significant institutional payment integrations yet.
The important part is that banks do not need to rip out their existing systems.
They can keep using familiar Swift and ISO 20022 messaging, while Chainlink’s CCIP handles cross-chain connectivity and CRE coordinates workflows between onchain and offchain systems.
That changes the narrative around $LINK .
This is no longer just about oracles feeding price data into DeFi.
Chainlink is increasingly becoming middleware for institutional finance.
If even a fraction of Bottomline’s bank network starts routing real payment flows onchain, the scale could be massive.
$16T payment rails + 600 banks + Chainlink infrastructure.
That’s not a small crypto partnership.
That’s TradFi infrastructure starting to plug into blockchain. 👀
