BEFORE YOU BUY! How I Evaluate a Crypto Presale 🔍 Everyone wants to find the next big crypto project before it gets listed. But getting in early doesn’t automatically mean getting a good deal. After years of working across Web3 communities, marketing, business development, and early-stage projects, one thing I’ve learned is that a strong narrative and a strong investment thesis are two very different things. When I research a presale, I don’t start with the question, “How high could this token go?” I start with five more important questions. 1. WHO IS BUILDING IT? 👥 A good pitch deck can make almost any idea look promising. Look beyond the presentation. Can you verify the team’s background? Have they built anything before? Are they communicating consistently and delivering measurable progress? Anonymous teams aren’t automatically scams, but limited transparency makes due diligence harder. 2. DOES THE PRODUCT ACTUALLY SOLVE A PROBLEM? 🛠️ A compelling narrative can attract attention, but sustainable demand needs a reason to exist. Look for a working product, a credible development roadmap, real integrations, and evidence of user activity. Ask yourself: If the token didn’t exist, would people still need this product? It’s not a perfect test, but it can reveal whether the project has genuine utility beyond speculation. 3. DOES THE TOKENOMICS MAKE SENSE? 📊 This is where many people overlook important details. I pay attention to: • Total supply and initial circulating supply • Fully diluted valuation (FDV) • Team and investor allocations • Vesting schedules and upcoming unlocks • Token utility and potential sell pressure A low token price doesn’t necessarily mean a project is undervalued. Valuation, supply, liquidity, and future dilution matter far more than the number displayed next to the token symbol. 4. IS THERE REAL DEMAND? 🌐 A large community doesn’t automatically translate into real adoption. Look beyond follower counts and engagement metrics. Are people using the product? Are integrations meaningful? Is activity consistent, or does it only spike around announcements and rewards? Community growth matters, but the quality of that growth matters more. 5. WHAT COULD GO WRONG? ⚠️ Before thinking about potential upside, I want to understand the downside. Consider: • Unrealistic promises of guaranteed returns • Unclear token distribution or vesting • Concentrated token ownership • Weak liquidity plans • Unverified partnerships or exaggerated traction • Dependence on hype rather than product adoption No checklist can eliminate risk, especially in early-stage crypto. The goal is to identify risks before committing capital, not after. MY FINAL RULE I don’t judge a presale by how exciting its upside sounds. I judge it by the quality of the evidence, the sustainability of the token model, the strength of the product, and the risks I’m being asked to take. Early access is only an advantage when the opportunity justifies the risk. This is the first post in my Before You Buy series, where I’ll break down presale research, tokenomics, product validation, and the red flags worth understanding before investing. Your turn: What’s the first thing you check when evaluating a new crypto project: the team, tokenomics, product, or community? #BinanceSquare #CryptoResearch #Web3 #Tokenomics

BEFORE YOU BUY!

How I Evaluate a Crypto Presale 🔍
Everyone wants to find the next big crypto project before it gets listed.
But getting in early doesn’t automatically mean getting a good deal.
After years of working across Web3 communities, marketing, business development, and early-stage projects, one thing I’ve learned is that a strong narrative and a strong investment thesis are two very different things.
When I research a presale, I don’t start with the question, “How high could this token go?”
I start with five more important questions.
1. WHO IS BUILDING IT? 👥
A good pitch deck can make almost any idea look promising.
A compelling narrative can attract attention, but sustainable demand needs a reason to exist.
This is where many people overlook important details.
I pay attention to:
• Total supply and initial circulating supply
• Fully diluted valuation (FDV)
• Team and investor allocations
• Vesting schedules and upcoming unlocks
• Token utility and potential sell pressure
A low token price doesn’t necessarily mean a project is undervalued. Valuation, supply, liquidity, and future dilution matter far more than the number displayed next to the token symbol.
4. IS THERE REAL DEMAND? 🌐
A large community doesn’t automatically translate into real adoption.
Look beyond follower counts and engagement metrics. Are people using the product? Are integrations meaningful? Is activity consistent, or does it only spike around announcements and rewards?
Community growth matters, but the quality of that growth matters more.
5. WHAT COULD GO WRONG? ⚠️
Before thinking about potential upside, I want to understand the downside.
Consider:
• Unrealistic promises of guaranteed returns
• Unclear token distribution or vesting
• Concentrated token ownership
• Weak liquidity plans
• Unverified partnerships or exaggerated traction
• Dependence on hype rather than product adoption
No checklist can eliminate risk, especially in early-stage crypto. The goal is to identify risks before committing capital, not after.
MY FINAL RULE
I don’t judge a presale by how exciting its upside sounds.
I judge it by the quality of the evidence, the sustainability of the token model, the strength of the product, and the risks I’m being asked to take.
Early access is only an advantage when the opportunity justifies the risk.
