U.S. President Donald Trump has shifted to a new strategy on Iran after weeks of hoping for positive progress in U.S.-Iran talks with little result. According to Sina Finance, citing an American official and people familiar with the matter, Trump told senior government envoys to stop talks with Iran, while White House officials recently told political allies that the U.S. is adjusting its strategy from striking Iran as soon as possible to containing Iran over the long term. After the ceasefire agreement signed in June collapsed, Trump had repeatedly said negotiations were progressing well and that a new agreement was close, but he is now saying there have been no diplomatic talks between the U.S. and Iran at all.

According to CNBC, Wells Fargo initiated Huntington Bancshares with an overweight rating and a $23 price target, implying about 28% upside from Friday's close of $17.91. Analyst Mike Mayo said Texas' rapid population growth, its economy larger than Canada's, 57 Fortune 500 headquarters and a leading share of data-center development make the state increasingly important for the bank. He said Huntington is benefiting from its expanded presence in Texas and the Southeast, where nearly one-third of its business is now concentrated, and noted that those markets, together with Austin, have drawn more than 200 headquarters relocations over eight years. Mayo also said the lender's Texas push follows its merger with Dallas-based Veritex and its definitive agreement to acquire Cadence Bank, a $53 billion regional bank headquartered in Houston, Texas and Tupelo, Mississippi. He added that Texas' position as the top state for new data centers supports Huntington's exposure to the artificial intelligence investment boom. Huntington shares rose slightly after the call and are up about 4% year to date.
