The documentation explains that the vault is a Bitcoin UTXO locked using pre-signed Bitcoin transactions. From my understanding, those pre-defined spending paths allow different outcomes depending on cryptographic proofs instead of trusting a custodian. The lending example made this easier to picture: Bob locks 1 BTC to borrow $50,000. If Bitcoin drops below $50,000, Larry can liquidate the collateral. The next section on Proof Verification via BitVM3 was more challenging.
