Crypto just can't avoid Jim Cramer (3:38)

Jim Cramer believes investors are ignoring the market’s underlying resilience. 

During Wednesday’s episode of "Mad Money," the financial analyst argued that Wall Street is currently in "denial" regarding falling energy costs and the influence of President Donald Trump.

Cramer advised his audience to pay closer attention to the relationship between energy and stocks. 

“When in doubt in this market, check the direction of oil. Ignore those who scoff at every word out of the president’s mouth,” he noted, pointing out that President Donald Trump has frequently talked the market out of a rut.

Energy prices and global diplomacy

Oil prices retreated on Wednesday, March 25, as investors grew hopeful about a possible ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. 

International benchmark Brent Crude dropped 2.17% to $102.22 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate fell 2.2% to $90.32. This pullback followed reports of a 15-point peace proposal from Washington.

However, the diplomatic situation remains complicated. Iranian state media indicated they would reject the American offer in favor of their own five-point plan, which includes demands for control over the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite this tension, Cramer noted that many investors stayed focused on "doom and gloom" even as prices pulled back.

 “Everyone was acting like oil was still soaring,” he observed.

He added, “I’m seeing denial all over the place, and it’s really cutting into everyone’s performance.”

The power of the presidential put

Cramer specifically highlighted the “presidential put,” referring to President Trump’s ability to stabilize markets with his public statements. 

He argued that the president understands exactly how to talk the market out of a rut.

“Whoever is selling at that moment has to stop because the presidential put has spoken,” he said. “The president likes to keep the market in the air and knows the words people want to hear,” Cramer explained. 

He told his viewers that when the president speaks, sellers usually have to stop their momentum.

Mixed signals across financial sectors

While major stock indices advanced on Wednesday—with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 300 points—other sectors faced pressure. 

Overnight, the cryptocurrency market experienced a sharp selloff. Bitcoin fell 2.36% to approximately $69,700, and Ether dropped 4.1% toward the $2,000 level.

These declines matched a broader dip in gold and Nasdaq 100 futures.

Cramer concluded by warning investors to acknowledge current market realities rather than sticking to a negative narrative. 

“Stop drinking denial,” he warned. “You’re gonna get sick.”
