They argue that activity on the platform—especially around oil-linked trading—could influence global oil pricing and create risks such as market manipulation and sanctions-related exposure.

Hyperliquid’s Policy Center pushed back, calling the allegations “unfounded” and rejecting the idea that the platform poses the risks described.
