For a long time, Bitcoin's story has been about storing value.
Now I'm starting to see a second chapter emerge, using that value without giving it up.
That's one of the reasons I started reading about @BabylonLabs_io
Instead of treating Bitcoin as an asset that should just sit in a wallet forever, Trustless Bitcoin Vaults (TBV) explores ways for native BTC to participate in the on-chain economy while remaining true to Bitcoin's principles.
I don't think every experiment succeeds, and that's okay.
But I do think Bitcoin deserves infrastructure that's built around Bitcoin, not infrastructure that asks Bitcoin holders to constantly adapt.
That's why I'll be keeping an eye on how TBV evolves.
One thing I've learned in crypto is that it's easy to make big promises.
It's much harder to let real users test your product before calling it "ready."
That's one reason I paid attention to @BabylonLabs_io and Trustless Bitcoin Vaults (TBV).
Instead of only talking about the concept, they're already giving the community a chance to try native Bitcoin-backed borrowing on the public testnet and share feedback.
I like that approach.
The strongest infrastructure isn't built in isolation, it's improved through real users, real questions, and real testing.
No protocol is perfect from day one, but opening the doors early says a lot about how a team wants to build.
I'll be watching how TBV evolves as more people test it and more applications start integrating native Bitcoin collateral.
Sometimes, the most valuable feedback comes long before mainnet.
The more I explored DeFi, the more I realized that there was always a problem in BTC segment.
If I wanted to put my BTC to work, I usually had to wrap it, bridge it, or sometimes trust someone else to hold it🤦♂️. That never felt completely aligned with why I chose Bitcoin in the first place.
That's what made me stop and read more about @BabylonLabs_io and Trustless Bitcoin Vaults (TBV).
What stood out to me wasn't a promise of higher returns but for me it was the idea of using native Bitcoin as collateral while staying self-custodial (Which I liked the most tbh). No wrapping. No bridging. No centralized intermediary standing between me and my BTC.
