Hunter Biden is launching a meme coin called LAPTOP on the Base blockchain on Sept. 9, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. The token takes its name from the laptop Biden left at a Delaware repair shop in 2019, whose contents became a major point of controversy before the 2020 US presidential election. The total supply is set at 1 billion tokens. Biden and other founders have been allocated 30% of that supply, which will be locked from sale for six months and vest over two years. Another 20% will be distributed in two airdrop rounds to wallets that lost money on the Official Trump (TRUMP) meme coin, to Biden's Substack subscribers, and to a mailing list run by his friend Andrew Callaghan, a video journalist.
