Many traders see a decline in BTC Dominance as a direct signal that altseason has begun. I don't think it's that simple.

A falling BTC Dominance does not automatically mean capital is flowing into altcoins. The first question to ask is whether fresh money is entering the crypto market or whether existing liquidity is simply rotating between sectors.

If BTC Dominance is declining while the total crypto market capitalization is also weakening, that's not necessarily an altseason. It may simply indicate that Bitcoin is underperforming altcoins for a period, without any meaningful expansion in overall market liquidity.

Another factor that deserves more attention is stablecoins. Their share of the crypto market has grown significantly over the past few years, making BTC Dominance a less reliable standalone indicator than it was in previous cycles. Looking at the BTC.D chart in isolation is no longer enough.

Personally, I never analyze BTC Dominance on its own. I monitor it alongside TOTAL, TOTAL2, ETH/BTC, OTHERS, spot volume, and on-chain capital flows. When these metrics begin to align, the market's message becomes far more convincing.

At the moment, BTC Dominance is testing a major technical support zone. If that support holds, Bitcoin is likely to maintain its leadership. On the other hand, if the level breaks with confirmation—and that move is accompanied by stronger altcoin market capitalization, improving ETH/BTC performance, and genuine capital inflows into altcoins—then the probability of a broader market rotation increases significantly.

For me, BTC Dominance is not a signal to trade on by itself. It's a piece of a much larger puzzle, and without confirmation from liquidity, market structure, and capital flows, any conclusion is incomplete.
