I built PIVX Names to solve a small, dull problem: nobody reads all 78 characters. We check the first four, the last four, and hope — which is precisely the habit that address-swapping malware is built for.

IT'S ALREADY IN A WALLET
MyPIVXWallet is the first wallet to support it. You type a name where you'd normally paste an address; the wallet resolves it, verifies the Merkle proof locally against the root anchored on-chain, and blocks the send if anything fails to verify. It's opt-in by address shape — if you never type a name, your send flow is unchanged.

WHY YOU DON'T HAVE TO TRUST ME
A registration is an ordinary shielded PIVX transaction — the amount is the payment, the memo is the signed command. I publish the protocol address AND its viewing key, so anyone can scan PIVX from block 5536811, replay every command through the open-source indexer, compute the registry root themselves and compare it to the root anchored on-chain.
Censor a paid registration or invent a record, and every independent indexer contradicts me, unprompted. This makes fraud evident rather than impossible — I'd rather state that than oversell it.
PAY ONCE
No renewals, no expiry, no annual fee. From 90 PIVX for eight characters or more, up to 10,000 PIVX for a single character. Re-pointing a name later is 6–15 PIVX.
WHERE THE REVENUE GOES
Income is intended to cover infrastructure and development, fund donations to existing PIVX community initiatives, help start new ones, and pay for periodic coin burns.
The percentages aren't fixed yet. It's a plan being worked out publicly rather than a finished policy, and I'd sooner commit to something sustainable than announce a headline figure and quietly revise it.
