Chinese stocks rebound as PBoC strengthens market support

📈 On November 4, the Shanghai Composite rose 2.16% to 3,686.17, while Shenzhen gained 4.22%, rebounding after recent selling pressure.

🏦 The PBoC cut its relending rate for share buybacks and stake increases from 1.25% to 1%. Lower funding costs could encourage companies and major shareholders to borrow for share purchases.

💰 Banks applied for over 200 billion yuan, roughly $30 billion, in funding quotas. This reflects demand for the program rather than money already disbursed into equities.

🔬 The STAR Composite jumped 9.9%, far outpacing Shanghai and highlighting the strength of the recovery in technology shares.

🔎 Policy support is helping short-term sentiment. Sustaining the rally will also depend on loan disbursements, follow-through buying and corporate earnings prospects.
