# Post A2 — Solana mempool
On Ethereum, transactions sit in a public mempool where searchers can see and front-run them. Solana removed that entirely.
Instead: one validator (the "leader") is scheduled to build each block, and clients send transactions directly to them. Order is fixed the moment the leader timestamps entries with Proof-of-History.
Practical takeaway: if your trade depends on being first (arbitrage, mints, liquidations), you must reach the leader first — low-latency RPCs help more than higher gas in many cases.
