NFT project Robin Guards publicly challenged 200 crypto influencers over suspected fake followers, coordinated likes and AI-generated comments. Robin Guards said the influencers collectively had more than 10 million followers but generated only 200 NFT sales, a conversion rate of approximately 0.002%. Some participating influencers subsequently accused Robin Guards of fraud after the project refused to pay further promotion fees. Robin Guards alleged that some influencers bought fabricated audience and engagement metrics from third parties to obtain promotion fees.
