STRATEGY SIGNALS POTENTIAL BITCOIN PURCHASE AMID MACRO HEADWINDS
Chairman Michael Saylor has signaled that Strategy may announce an additional Bitcoin acquisition, continuing the firm's balance-sheet treasury allocation strategy despite mounting macroeconomic headwinds.
According to reported filings, Strategy currently holds 848,517 BTC, valued at approximately 66 billion USD against an aggregate purchase cost basis of 64 billion USD. The company executed multiple purchases across October comprising 334 BTC, 250 BTC, and 267 BTC, subsequently deploying 204.9 million USD to repurchase STRC shares. During the third quarter, the company transferred 5,552 BTC out of reserves to fund dividend disbursements and share buyback programs, leading to a 3.7% year-to-date contraction in Bitcoin per diluted share.
This potential capital deployment arrives amid ongoing global macroeconomic pressures. Crude oil prices concluded October at 117.64 USD per barrel, annual inflation stood at 3.7%, and the Federal Reserve maintained benchmark policy rates between 3.75% and 4% on October 28 despite two dissenting votes favoring policy tightening. Additionally, pending index classification revisions from MSCI present regulatory considerations regarding the company's future index eligibility.
