XRP Ledger developers are working to close gaps in how restricted tokens are handled.
Four proposed code changes were introduced this week to prevent accounts without issuer authorization from receiving or holding permissioned tokens, a feature commonly used for regulated stablecoins and tokenized funds.
Under the proposals, users would need approval for both assets involved in a trading pool before participating. Another change would ensure unauthorized token balances can only be returned to their original issuer.
The updates are still under review and would be activated through fixCleanup3_5_0, a broader XRP Ledger upgrade. As with other amendments, implementation requires at least 80% validator support maintained for two consecutive weeks. $XRP
