Funding rate looks tiny, but it is a real cost on every perp you hold.

How it works on most Binance USDT perps:
- Funding is paid every 8 hours, so 3 times a day.
- When the rate is positive, longs pay shorts. When it is negative, shorts pay longs.
- 0.01% per 8 hours is the base rate you see when the market is calm.

Last funding right now:
- $ETH 0.0100%, right at base
- BTC 0.0053%
- ZEC 0.0029%
- $BNB 0.0026%

What 0.01% costs: a 10,000 USDT long pays 1 USDT every 8 hours. That is 3 USDT a day and about 90 USDT over 30 days. On 1,000 USDT margin at 10x, that is 9% of your margin gone in a month while price does nothing.

So funding matters most on slow swing trades with leverage. Under 0.01%, like BTC and BNB now, holding a long costs less than usual.

Do you check funding before you hold a perp overnight, yes or no?
