BlackRock wants to sell a Bitcoin ETF with a seatbelt. 🛡️

iShares Trust filed a Form 485APOS with the SEC on Oct 19 for the "iShares Bitcoin Managed Protection ETF" (ticker PBIT).

How it works, per the prospectus:
• Upside exposure to IBIT (its spot BTC ETF), only up to a cap
• Bought + sold call options in 3 overlapping tranches
• Fixed-income holdings to help fund the options and cushion losses

Fee, cap level and listing date are still blank. The filing asks to go effective 75 days after filing, which is a regulatory step, not a confirmed launch.

My take: this targets advisers and conservative money that wants BTC exposure but can't stomach -30% drawdowns. Wall Street is packaging $BTC like an equity product: buffers, caps, structured income.

Bull case: easier entry for cautious capital, more steady demand flowing into IBIT-linked hedging.
Bear case: capped upside makes it a "rent BTC" product, not an "own BTC" one, and options flows can dampen volatility in both directions.

BTC now: $80,982 (-0.96% 24h, Binance spot, 12:20 KST), stuck in a ~$79.8K–$84.9K range over 10 days.

Would you trade upside for protection?
