#EarningsSeason
Strong earnings don't always mean a stock will go up. And that lesson matters for crypto traders, too.
When a major company reports its results, most people immediately look at revenue and profit. But the market is also asking a different question: were the results better than investors already expected?
Imagine a company reports record profits, but its management warns that growth could slow next quarter. The business may be doing well, yet investors could still sell because they were expecting even more.
Crypto has a similar dynamic. Positive news about AI spending, institutional adoption or corporate Bitcoin holdings can support sentiment, but prices also reflect expectations, liquidity and positioning.
That's why I prefer looking beyond the headline. What did the company actually report? What changed in its outlook? And how did the market react afterward?
The reaction can sometimes tell you more than the headline itself.
When earnings season arrives, what do you pay attention to first: actual results, future guidance or the price reaction?
