The most interesting thing this week wasn't a launch. It was a shutdown.

On Oct 15, @Nillion announced that its L2 is closing and asked users to move their NIL and ETH to Ethereum mainnet.

But here's what makes this interesting. Dusk and Covenants are now live on mainnet, so this could be a move toward bringing everything together rather than simply stepping back.

I think the bridge data is worth watching. How many wallets will move their funds to Ethereum, and how many will stay on the L2 until it closes? These numbers could tell us how actively users are following the project.

Of course, I could be wrong. The L2 may simply not have attracted enough activity to justify keeping it running. Without checking the transaction history, it's too early to draw a conclusion.

One thing I've learned is that shutdown news can sometimes reveal more than launch announcements.

I'll revisit the bridge data after a few days and see what the numbers tell us. For now, it's just a theory.
