A slide from about 83K to 80,700 looks mild on a chart, yet it just triggered more than $1 billion in liquidations.

If you were long with leverage, that is the kind of dip that skips the debate and closes the trade for you. You do not get a calm moment to decide on an exit when forced selling is already running.

$BTC did not move on its own. U.S. inflation data looks like the spark, and the drop in the NASDAQ spilled straight into crypto. When stocks and crypto sell off together, the market is trading risk appetite, not a separate crypto story.

The odd part is $ETH . Liquidations there ran almost as high as Bitcoin's, which usually means traders were still positioned for an altcoin bounce instead of just holding the majors. That bet gets expensive fast once macro turns against it.

Do you read this as a quick leverage flush, or the start of a stickier risk-off move?
