📊 Weekly Bilan (Oct 5-9): BTC Lost $87K, Oil and Yields Took Control 🛢️
A week where crypto lagged while US stocks hit new highs 🇺🇸
It started with a repeat. BTC pushed toward $87K again and was rejected for the second time in a week 😤 Then came Wednesday: crowded longs were flushed, ETFs saw about $90M in outflows, and the hawkish FOMC minutes (most members see another hike this year) kept the dollar and Treasury yields strong 🏛️ On Thursday the drop extended to about $80.3K, and roughly $1.2B of leveraged positions were reset ⚡
Behind all of this sat oil 🛢️ Brent traded above $100 on Iran and Hormuz tensions, which fed inflation fears and kept rate hike hopes low. On Friday, signs of diplomacy eased oil, and BTCbounced back to about $83K 🔄
The numbers 📈
• $BTC: closed at about $82.1K, down 2.8% on the week, ending a three-week winning streak
• $ETH : down 6.8% to about $2,488, falling more than BTC
• $XAU : gold dipped to $4,100 on Wednesday but finished the week higher, around $4,220 🥇
💡 My lesson of the week: open interest rose while price fell. That means new leveraged positions kept being opened into the drop, and those are the ones that get flushed. When the same level (here $87K) rejects price twice, I stop expecting the third try to work unless yields fall first 🧠
📅 Next week: US CPI (September) on Wednesday, Oct 14. It is the main test for the Fed hike path. Support to watch for BTC is $82K, then $80K, and resistance is $84K, then $87K 🎯
