Per The Block, Orca and Loopscale have merged into Formation, led by Loopscale co-founder Luke Truitt. The plan pairs Orca's trading engine with Loopscale's fixed-rate lending and vaults, then aims beyond crypto: financing for AI, energy, robotics and defense businesses. Partners named include Figure, Superstate and Securitize. Financial terms were not disclosed.
My view: consolidation in DeFi makes sense, but the new pitch is far from the products that exist today. The $ORCA token stays at the center, so execution is what holders should judge.
