Crypto exchange Bitget has raised its estimate of stolen funds to $387.5 million after further tracing identified additional assets transferred to attacker-controlled wallets highlighting the growing scale of the September 24 2026 security breach.

Bitget said that about $387.5 million in crypto assets were transferred to attacker-controlled addresses, up from its initial estimate of $351.6 million.

The exchange said the increase does not represent a second wave of theft but reflects a more complete accounting of transactions during the original breach including assets on the Zcash and TRON networks.

The stolen funds include:

  • XRP,

  • Ether,

  • USDT,

  • ZEC,

  • USDC,

  • USDT0,

  • XAUt,

  • BNB,

  • AVAX, and

  • TRX

according to Bitget.

The transfers affected parts of the exchange’s hot and warm wallet infrastructure while Bitget said its cold wallets were not compromised.

Bitget said the attack was contained and that no further unauthorized transfers were possible.

It has suspended withdrawals while security checks continue with Mandiant and SlowMist assisting its investigation. The exchange has also launched a recovery bounty program and said some of the stolen assets have already been frozen through cooperation with industry participants.

The latest figure puts the incident among the largest crypto thefts reported in 2026 and shows how initial estimates of losses can rise as investigators trace assets across multiple blockchains.
