Bitcoin has a problem that price charts can’t show.

European financial watchdogs have raised a fresh warning about quantum computing and blockchain security.

The concern: if quantum computers eventually become powerful enough, some older Bitcoin addresses with already-exposed public keys could be more vulnerable than newer addresses.

Something worth learning:
Bitcoin isn’t protected by one giant “password.” It relies on cryptography that lets you prove ownership with a private key without revealing that key. Quantum computing matters because sufficiently advanced machines could challenge some of the mathematical assumptions behind today’s cryptography.

But that machine doesn't exist today. The real challenge is upgrading security before the technology gets there.

Crypto usually talks about the next cycle.

This is about whether the technology is ready for the next decade.
