Crypto markets rarely move all at once....

Instead, capital often rotates from one part of the market to another. That is why traders are watching a familiar sequence again BTC → ETH → large-cap altcoins → smaller altcoins.

Bitcoin usually gets the attention first.

When confidence returns to crypto, BTC can attract much of the early liquidity because it is the largest and most established crypto asset. A strong Bitcoin move can improve sentiment across the entire market.

The interesting part often begins when Bitcoin slows down.

If BTC holds its gains instead of falling sharply, traders may start looking for opportunities elsewhere. Ethereum is usually one of the first major assets they watch.

If ETH begins outperforming while Bitcoin remains stable, it can be a sign that traders are becoming more comfortable taking additional risk.

Then attention can move toward large-cap altcoins.

Coins such as SOL, XRP, BNB and other established projects can begin attracting more liquidity. Instead of Bitcoin carrying the whole market, strength starts spreading across several major assets.

After that comes the stage many traders wait for.

If confidence continues growing, capital can start reaching mid-cap and smaller altcoins. These coins can produce much larger percentage moves, but they also carry significantly higher volatility and risk.

This is where the idea of altseason usually becomes much louder.

But seeing a few smaller coins pump doesn't automatically confirm a full market rotation. Crypto narratives can change quickly, and capital can move back toward Bitcoin just as fast.

That is why BTC dominance and the ETH/BTC relationship are useful areas to watch.

If Bitcoin remains healthy while its market dominance declines and ETH strengthens relative to BTC, it can indicate that more capital is spreading beyond Bitcoin.

Another clue is market breadth.

A stronger rotation would mean momentum expanding across different sectors rather than just one or two trending coins producing huge candles.

So are we already seeing the classic rotation?

There are signs worth watching, but the important part is whether the strength continues spreading across the market.

Bitcoin may have started the move. Ethereum could be the bridge. Large caps could confirm the rotation. And if liquidity eventually reaches smaller caps, that is when the market could become much more interesting.
