🔎 Who Gets to Power AI Payments: Cardano, Solana or $XRP ? Cardano has just been added to the official x402 toolkit, joining Solana, XRP Ledger and several EVM networks in the race to power payments for AI agents. 💡 x402 is a payment standard originally created by Coinbase. Its job is to let software and AI agents pay for digital services automatically, without sending a human through a normal checkout. That could mean paying for: → API access → datasets → cloud compute → other pay-per-use online services So instead of buying a subscription or entering card details, an agent could receive the price, make the payment and keep working. 💭 And that is where the blockchain competition starts: if AI agents begin making these payments at scale, the networks processing them could become part of a new machine-to-machine payment layer. Cardano $ADA is still early here - its facilitator has only been tested on pre-production, not mainnet. But it is now positioning alongside Solana and XRP Ledger for the same use case. x402 itself is also moving beyond a Coinbase experiment: the standard is now backed by a Linux Foundation organization whose members include Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, Google and AWS. #AI #Macro Insights#
