$BTC is currently at such a peculiar spot.... with short positions piled up in one direction and long positions in the other. So -
which way will the real move go?

There is a cluster of short liquidations sitting above in the $77K–$81K range, while a long liquidation zone lies below, towards $75K–$72K. Looking at the chart, my initial thought was:

with so much liquidity on both sides, will BTC simply pick a direction and run with it?

Or will it swing to both sides first?

That’s where it gets interesting.

Traders usually fixate on a specific level —waiting for either an upside breakout or a downside breakdown. However, when liquidity exists on both sides, price action can play out differently. I wouldn't be surprised to see a sweep in one direction followed by a rapid move in the opposite direction. That said, it dosn't feel like the right time to be certain about the direction just yet.

I am keeping a close watch on these two zones. What’s most interesting now is seeing how much liquidity BTC sweeps before the actual move begins.
